Tried it yesterday at the local qwiky mart. WOW! It freakin worked. Just as described. Truck running, hit the lock button on the key fob, then hit the start button twice, and immediately turn and yank the key out of the ignition. All went quiet except the engine. Then the ac came back on. I opened the door before I attempted the sequence in case opening the door would cancel the feature. My truck is a Job 1, 6-2-10 build date with the 400/800 flash and one reflash of the TCM back in Feb. '11.
Kind of a neat feature. I wish I knew about it before my mini-dacshound died last month. On my previous truck, I would always keep the key fob on a split key chain so I could leave the truck running briefly, and take the fob with me, because he would always step on the door locks on the armrest and lock me out of the truck. He did this for years. I never have committed the keypad code on the Ford to memory, so I would just use the extra key. I sure do miss that little fella.
