I still have a truck like that, and I've had a few cars like that also now that I think of it.
Glad someone remembers! The reason I asked is I am wondering if LECD was really discovered or did you guys find a 21st century equivalent of removing the key while the truck is running. Has anyone let the truck time out yet?

Yes, I haven't timed them yet, but I have my remote start set to 5 minutes and it seemed to take about 5 minutes to shut down using the cool down. I'm not sure yet if the remote start settings for 5, 10 and 15 minutes also dictate the cool down time. It would be nice if the cool down was only 2-3 minutes all the time, but I'll take what I can get!

I just timed mine and it shut off right at the 5 min that I set in the settings. When I got out after it shut off the alarm warning came on, forgot that that will do that.
I had one issue with my cool down over the weekend... I had been towing my boat up some significant grades (8%+) and when we got back to the cabin, I opened the door and initiated the cool down. I had left the door open while I unhooked the boat (doors locked from the process of initiating the cool down). After I unhooked the boat, I had to run to the garage and get something. I put the keys back in the ignition and turned the key to on and closed the door. I got back from the garage and couldn't get in the truck....I had shut the door with it still locked.
This wouldn't have been an issue at all if I'd have memorized my keypad combo for the locks but unfortunately I hadn't. Luckily, my wife had brought her keys with her to the lake and I was able to get back in after a few beads of sweat had formed on my brow. I'll be learning my keypad combo soon!

Wives can be good that way! I wouldn't know the whereabouts of half of my tools if it weren't for her.
Based on your experience at the cabin, the lack of ANY documentation of the LECD and the fact that members can't all reproduce LECD; I am convinced you guys have found a way to hack the truck OR you have accessed a secret decoder ring of Ford.
I know Ford has built in a number of unique features accessed by combinations of pedal taps and key cycles; could it be LECD is nothing more than one of these?

I really think this is the case, mostly because of the timing of the last push of the start button and getting the key out in time, then the hick-up in the engine afterwards.
Hey guys, I think I may solved the mystery. I have an early build 1 with limited editiion seats, lariat Ultimate with nav etc...
At first when I tried this, it didnt work. Then today when I went out, I tried it again and it worked! So, I thought it had to do with driving over a certain speed. NOT. I got home and tried it again once I got to the driveway and it did not work. So I sat in the driveway for 30 minutes experimenting and this is what I discovered;
Doesnt mater if you drove or put your foot on the brake or touched the gearshift lever.
truck is running, open door or dont, get out, or dont doesnt matter.
make sure you put the key unto the ignition so you can see the buttons.
hit lock once, hold for 1 mississippi and release.
hit start twice and hold for a mississippi each and release
Immediately after your thumb leaves the button after the second release, pull the key out fast. Like your supposed to swipe a credit card. Once I followed this routine, it worked every time. Now you guys try it and someone please start a poll!
Mine seems to not be dependant on the "mississippi" counting... see the video. I can also leave the key in the ignition on mine after turning it 'off'.
Can you take a video and post it up ?

Yes, mine times out at 10mins. I am using mine for running into stores not reall a cool down right now, so I want it running when I come back out.
anyone else have the radio 'on' when in RS mode ??
(see my second video)
No, I was going to ask you about that. Mine is just like when it's remote started. All blank dash and nav screen, no radio but it does run the AC.
Also, which is still strange, mine doesn't seem to be really timing dependent either. It works every time. And although it does seem to "hiccup" and turn off for a split second, it doesn't actually do that. I thought the same thing the first couple of times I did it, but I opened the door and listened closely and it just slightly changes the idle speed momentarily but doesn't actually shut off.
