Mine works, but I have to take the key out really fast or it doesn't. IMHO I think it's a Ford oversight/bug judging by how the engine does a quick hiccup and remains running after you pull the key out. My truck was built 10/10, not sure what Job number it is.
Just got mine to work too. Hard to tell but it's almost like the engine shuts of for a second but then continues to run again without the starter engaging. Very hard to explain but FINALLY got mine to work....
Yea, I am beginning to subscribe to the theory that this is a hiccup that the remote start was never designed to do this. Thats why folks are getting different results and there are different techniques that work. Hope everyone gets it to work, this is an awesome feature to have.
It's still odd that it seems to vary so much by individual truck; which probably leads to the theory that it is some sort of glitch. If I hadn't of read all of these on here, I would have thought it was designed that way based on how mine works. It really is as simple as the remote start and as reliable (for me). It's worked every time since I learned it from my996duc1.
Not having a truck yet, I can't test on my own, but this thread is interesting. When one does a remote start, does the engine crank immediately upon button push, or is there a delay? If one does a remote start while the engine is already running, does anything happen? If there is some sort of processing delay between button push and engine cranking, what is being seen here might just be a normal remote start where the correct conditions (engine off) are met quickly enough so that the process continues. That would explain the engine sputter as well.

There is a delay before the engine starts up, but you can hear the whining right before as the plugs warm up...then it starts up about 2 seconds later.

Does the delay time change if the motor is already warm? Also, does remote start work if the key is in the ignition?
