Engine Cool Down Feature (in conjunction with Remote Start)
In another thread (Remote Start), it was discovered that at least 2 of us have a feature enabled on our trucks to use the remote start for a "cool down" after the truck is running.
The procedure is fairly simple:
- After the truck is running, use the same process on the key fob as you would to remote start your truck (while key is still in ignition and truck is running).
- After pressing the "lock" then the 2x remote start button twice, turn the key to off and remove it.
- The truck will continue to run (we think based on the time you have the remote start set to run - 5, 10 or 15 min).
So far, we have only found the two of us who are able to do this. The first was my99duc1 (thank you for finding it!).
We'll also, for now, call this the LECD (Limited Edition Cool Down), coined by Marauder92V.
We are sure there has got to be more than 2 of us with this LECD feature, so please test it out and let us know if any of you have it as well.
When this was posted several days ago, I've tried it as published and every other way I can think of. No go, won't work, nada. My truck was a mid Oct., 2010 build.
Wow, never tried that before. Here in Vegas we get pretyy warm, pretty quick but never thought about running alone for a couple minutes to cool down. Will try it
I bought my new 2011 in the Spring of 2011. I tried this and it does not work. As soon as I turn the key to off, the truck horn beeps once and the engine turns off.

Same here..I voted on the poll also,..My truck is a Job 1.
I have a question....the guys that it DOES work on...Do you BOTH have Factory Navigation? Since the radio stays on in the video...that might help narrow it done some.
Thank you Marauder92V for figuring out what to call this - LECD (Limited Edition Cool Down) This sounds alot better than calling it a 'favorable programming error' (FPE)
Seems like a couple trucks can, but most trucks can't. Not sure why or what variables are involved....
Mine has a build date of 4/9/10 with the only flash being the 400/800.
