One thing I did find out, if the engine is started and you turn the key to start, it just continues to run without grinding the starter. It's smart enough to know if the engine is running, it doesn't need started.
Does the delay time change if the motor is already warm? Also, does remote start work if the key is in the ignition?
No, the remote start delay appears to be the same regardless as to whether it is already warm. It's probably a preset time. I haven't tried remote starting it with the key in the ignition.

Yeah, that's a great feature. You also don't need to hold the key turned until it starts.... You can just turn it to start and immediately let go and it will start every time.
Mine works, you have to be really fast taking the key out. It does the little hiccup and then keeps running. No more waiting in the rest areas to let it cool down a bit. I wonder how many techs know about the things that have been found on this new truck. My dealer hardly knew what DEF was when I asked about it. By the was it is a Job 2 truck

Yea, this is the only way I start the truck now.
Turn the key and let go.
This creates a problem on older vehicles when I'm not paying attention to what I'm doing.
OK, I was wrong in two of my earlier posts. 1) the engine definitely "hiccups" when using the LECD. 2). The radio does stay on if I initiate the cool down with the door closed. It turns off as soon as the door is opened on mine.
I have not had any success in getting this to work on my truck. tried all the variations that had been reported. on a lark, after i started the truck, i was pushed the remote start sequence. i changed my mind on removing the key, and just drove to my final location. i then removed the key (the drive was about 15 minutes). low and behold the truck remained running with the radio turning off as if it is in remote start mode. I exited and locked the truck. The engine still running. Shocked I tell you, Shocked. (and elated).
My theory is when using the remote start it takes about 4-5 seconds for the sequence to complete, so i wonder if one needs to wait that long before removing the key and those that have not had success will now. I will have to try a few more times and see if it will work consistently.
I think it's an inintended glitch. I tried to wait a few seconds after going through the sequence and all I got was a horn honk and the whole thing shut off.

Since it kinda worked in this case, try turning the key off, but leave it in the ignition. Also, are you turning the key off immidiately after your thumb leaves that button. any delay with mine and it wont work.
