Remote start?
I would like to know if the factory remote/key can be removed and the truck
keeps running, a pit stop feature! My excursion has a viper remote and i can
press the start key with the truck running and remove it, arm/lock the truck
and it keeps running! I return to the truck unlock/install key turn to on and drive off.

No it cannot.
This type of feature is only available on higher trim level F150`s and other Ford vehicles that have the Intelligent Access System which is a step up from the standard Ford remote start system in your XLT.
