Hey old reliable ! thanks for the kuddo's on my old chev, I just dig old trucks, any kind.
And thats the "CUSTOM" emblem you see on the bed I think, but i'll see if I cant get a pic tomorrow.
I am the same way. Right now, the main reason I am not really doing anything on my new crewcab is because I am redoing a 68 Dodge crew. If it is old and funky, I love it
My 74 had a "ranger" emblem on the bed. I think you can buy all those from LMC, if I remember correctly.
Front axel cleaned up and painted with chem resistent drive line paint.
No sand blaster here so I gotta do it the old fashiond way , wire wheels, a black n decker, and 40 grit sandpaper. Hub bearings and Ball joints seem tight, tie rods were shot but installing new end and drag link tomorrow. New brake pads/ caliper bolts on the left side/ dust boot for the pitman arm to steering assist.
Riderman I'm glad to hear that your runnin .090 over ! that info's goi'n to the bank !
and no there isn't any tricks to the T-case, assuming youv'e got the 205. first of all its easy to get to, its just hanginthere underneath waitin to be dropped out , unlike your tranny thats burried . you'llneed a 1-5/16" socket for the shaft nuts , preferably an impact wrench, radio playin your favorite music at about 98% volume , a cold six of your favorite beveridge, and this link to an excellent step by step (with pics) on how to do it. Double Agent / Tech Articles just click on tech articles NP205
You tha man! Thanks for the link! I just pulled a 205 and put on the bench, I have the rebuild kit. Yes I'm running .090 with no issues. No overheating, etc. This is my eighth 390 bored to .090 that have I've built or bought for people and have never had an issue with the cylinder walls. I'm thinking this crap about thin wall's is BS. Everyone warns you about them, but no body can say they bored to .090 and went through the wall. Not a one, I've been reading\researching this issue for years. Manufacturers still sell the .090 pistons and rings... Also, if a little small block cheby can handle .090, why not a beast 360\390 block.
Highboy44, everyone wants to know what king of black paint that is???? Weknow it's chemical resistant, but what brand is it. Please tell us some details on the black and silver paint.
I love the stock rim and tire size on yours Montana , i think I'll go back to that !
Thanks, i've been running those the last 8yrs, 235/85/16's (roughly 32" tall) on 6"x16" stock steelies, i'm eventually gonna go to 35's on aluminum slots after i do the SD spring swap up front and a shackle flip in the rear.
