Hey Teds74 !! Thanks for the tip on the headliner , I'm sure I'll be doing it again some time ! How's that crew cab doin ?
It's not doin Actually, it's not that bad. I am just driving it and fixing what I need to because I am redoing a 68 Dodge crew cab Here's a somewhat recent pic:
Like you, I am not brand loyal-I just like old stuff. In another 25-30 years, when I finally get the dodge done, I will start on the ford. The only real plan in the near future is to put on the flatbed I bought.
Keep up the good work. I really miss my regular cab
OH HELL YEAH !!!!!! WHOLLY CRAP NOW THATS WHAT I'M TALKIN ABOUT !!!!
Damn I love those things, When I was a kid in Colorado we lived by the Burlington Northern, Rio Grand RR sub station and the crews were supplied with those.....
some were fitted with the rail riders..... we might get flamed but post some more pics some tme ! thats what I'm gonna look for next !! a 68 crew cab !
Glad you like it. Since this is a ford forum, I don't generally post up much about it, but it should be fun when I get done. Basically, it is a replacement for my regular cab ford that I sold, but with a few important twists. Instead of 3/4 ton axles and a 6 cylinder, it has a 60/70 combo and a 440
The biggest hassle with them is parts. Nothing is available (compared to fords and chevys) and nothing is bolt on. I remade the suspension mounts, moved the gas tank, doing power steering with crossover, etc.
To Ted- I have only ever seen one 60's ish Dodge Crew in person. And I still kick myself for not having a camera with which to take its picture. It was in the parking lot of my college, I have never seen it again, nor do I think that I will see it again. So, please post away.
Of course, you guys can PM me any time with questions or whatever. I don't mind-naturally I like to talk about it I just don't want to muddy up Highboy's thread.
Hello challenged,Highboy.I just aquired a 1976F2504x4 with a 390. this truck is almost show.77000 original mileage.I had to replace all wiring harness, what a pain in the ***.It also came with hooker headers. Can't tell you what I went through, replacing starter.HA,HA.HA.
Just read through this whole thing. Great work and pretty fast paced progress! You'll be fine at .060 over with those sonic numbers. Still plenty of meat left in the walls. Looking forward to updates!
