First we'll find a good spot on the block to calibrate to, so we know the alloy and a known thickness for the sondicator . .360 to .361, close enough .
Headliner was rotten too ! 1/8 th inch hardboard, some vinyl , 3M super adhesive and clean up the trim.
I did this same thing for the front half of my crew, and what I found was that the spray adhesive didn't work. I ended up taking it down and using brush on contact cement. I propped up the two ends of the hardboard so it would bow in the center and then applied the cover. This made it conform a little better to the roof shape.
Oh, and it looks like you aren't the only one working on it It's nice when you get help, huh?
Oh yeah ! Contact cement is much stronger, but I just used the 3M cuz thats what I had at the time and besides my wife was ramrodding that project ! I was just following
orders !
Thanks Riderman and Morket !!! yeah I know you guys know all this stuff but i'm always wondering how much detail to post cuz there might be some kid that hasn't done or seen something, or someone might just need to see a part for detail or something, I'll just put all this stuff up, you can take it or leave it , ask a bout it or even complain, thats cool !
I for one really appreciate all the detail. It really gives me a heads up as to what I can expect to run into with my build, and I don't have near the experience or expertise that you all have. Thanks for sharing.
