with the motor out you can maybe pull the dizzy and with a drill motor and a home made extended oil pump shaft in the drill motor, spin the drill motor and the oil pump to try to isolate the problem.. Just a thought

Nope .. that is how we pre lube fresh rebuilt before initial start up to make sure all it's bits are getting oil .. the worst internal wear on engine can happen on initial fire if not pre lubed

Simon picked it on point 2. Its a diesel bruva - No dizzy and no plugs either. But thanks for da tip.
Every thing internal had a healthy coat of Clevite assembly lube. Running it for the 60 seconds when it finally started wouldnt have done any damage. There is fresh oil in all the right places , just not enough with those galley plugs missing. Im just happy I found the problem and put the engine back in.
Missed the diesel motor part
Clevite assembly lube
For gas engines the drill motor method works great to get the oil galley plugs sorted before install..
It sounds like your on way now mate .. Good luck .. Nice thread by the way
Yep Red, the F250 7.3 is a thumping great cast iron diesel motor designed by International Harvester, the stock motor redlines at 3,750 RPM, the pistons are so big there's an oil jet under each one squirting cooling oil up to cool the piston centre. Forget EFI, the fuel injectors are opened via a timed high pressure (3000psi) pulse of engine oil through special high pressure galleries to the fuel injector nozzles.
Brian, what about the hole lower down on the RHS of the photo - looks to be similar to the plug holes near the cam?
I am sorry, but special orders take time to get in. We had to order a package of 24 of these just to get your 3 as that is minimum package quantity.
just venting my frustrations bro. You know I luv ya. Its just my neighbors arent your biggest fan. I have to use my concrete truck to get to and from work now. It takes a few minutes each morning (4-5am) to build up air and they tell me its quiet loud.lol.
Oh and its 4 bro. Put em on PA. should be able to get rid of a few
