Thanks FBP. If some one can learn from my experiences its all good.
Now next problem. The oil pickup tube hits the bottom of the pan. Going to cut the tube just below the screen, take 10mm of and re weld it. Arrow marks the spot
Def coming along now. Is the JW tranny already in then?
Any idea why the old pick-up was too long?
The trans has been in since Nov last year. It was in when you drove it. And I have no idea why the tube is so close. I managed to massage the mount bolt to get the right clearance from the bottom of the pan. Its just the drain bolt is closer than I would of expected. Im over it now and have put the pan on.
Well Brian it looks like she is coming along nicely. I am looking forward to seeing how it's going. Now that I am not in the middle of building anything I can now sit back open a cold one and watch how your build is going. Keep up the good work.
Just ordered Stickly diesels regulated return with fuel bowl delete. Have to talk to Matt from Gearhead and organise my tunes. Having a week of from next Wednesday so I can get into it. Just have to pull the engine, transfer some bits over, paint the brackets that hold the AC and Alt. Rego is due in the middle of Sept. so I expect it to be in and running by then.
She's out. Tried a strap at first on the eyelets but it was lifting more at the rear than the front. So I grabbed some solid round and thread it through the eyelets and put some clamps on so it woudnt slide on the bar. Nice straight lift and its out..
When you do go to work,do your co workers say: gday m8 im such and such ...........each time ???
Looking good bruvva, thinking of just flying up for a weekend rather than waist 2 days driving...
