Finally got the chance for some WOT runs with AE on board.
2 runs in my " All Out" tune at 100mph. The WW2 will hit 40lbs in the blink of an eye and is alot quieter than the stock until you get up high, then howls like there is a tornado outside. Back pressure is excellent. So at this stage Im very impressed.

G'day Brian

Just a quick question, your exhaust back pressure is approx 50 psi, this is obviously to do with you having a 4" down pipe. Do you know what your pressure was when you had the stock pipe?

No m8. the 4" is one the first things I did when I got the truck. The exhaust is just one of many factors that effect back pressure. (turbo, cam, head flow etc). You normally work on a 2:1 factor for back pressure. 40lb boost equates to 60lbs of back pressure. That low 50 number has been posted by a few running the WW2. They is also one for the stock turbo.
Seriously , if you are going to push more through these engines, Exhaust and Intake should be done first.

Take 2 on the impressions of the WW2. That howl I mentioned now starts right from the get go and is very annoying. Now Im only at the initial diagnosis and some thing might be amiss. But I will put it out there to see if others are experiencing the same

Geez Brian, that is really a bad howl from the turbo. It almost sounds like a siren on a fire truck.
That would drive me insane. It took me a while to get used to having a 6637 filter on mine as it also gives a more throaty sound from the turbo, but nothing like the WW2.

Yes, it seems loud even at low to moderate boost levels. With the 6637 I dont get anything like that with the stock wheel until about 17.5 psi. At that time the whole thing is getting load and the boost siren just adds to the affect.

the funny thing now is it makes that noise from 0-25 psi boost and then goes quiet at full tilt. So the majority of my driving is going to be noisy. You cant keep a conversation at that level of noise.

took it to work today and it seems quieter. Got me stuffed, maybe it needed to bed in. The edge of the fins might clean up with more use.
Yep it is an auto. I was rolling on and off on the throttle to get it to howl.

It seems to have settled down now. 0-6lbs of boost you can here it then it clears up. The way that turbo spools up now , I believe I can live with it.
