When I was going through Jungle Expert Training at Fort Sherman, Panama many moons ago, I developed a pretty bad heat rash. Doctor's orders: every day after humping through the jungle, go swimming in the ocean. 3 days later----no rash and a decent tan.

That high a concentration of saline is enough to kill off anything bad except a red tide.
If you had clean enough sea water you could pickle some mighty interesting preserves with it! - in fact, one way to smoke fish is to drop the fillets into saltwater immediately. Seawater would be the more "Gourmet" approach...
An hour later rinse them and grill over mesquite!!!
