Hey all! Almost the weekend!
I'm going to be in paso robles this weekend..(spelling?)...I was wondering if anyone knew any good eating spots out there?
My favorite is actually not in Paso but just south of town in Templeton.
It is called McFees. Its on the main drag in Templeton which is a quaint little old style town.
There are plenty of places in Paso proper. From expensive to not so.
If you start at the main park downtown and just walk around you will find whatever you need.
If you don't mind spending a little cash, Artisan is nice. There is a place on the square called Villa Creek (medium priced). And just off the square Buona Tavola is nice but a bit ritzy.
Wifey and I spend lots of time there stocking the wine fridges.
Have fun.

Thanks for the info ill check some of those out. Might even talk the old lady into McFees
Huell Howser ate breakfast at a ranch style place in one of his episodes. I can't remember the name, and google didn't positively ID it for me. It looked good, with huge portions, of ranch style food. Someone help me...
I know he visited the Inn, and reviewed the history of the place. But I don't think that dining room is where he had breakfast.
I stayed at that Inn about 20 years ago while on a pig hunt. But hunting kept us busy from before dawn to after dark, so we didn't see much of the place. I remember I didn't get a pig!!! The rest is kind of fuzzy.
I don't think I'm going to go this year. We're skipping, and will probably go next year. We've lost access to our favorite property, and we're shopping around.
The termite inspector just left. Pretty good report, all things considered. I've got $800 worth of work needed.
Interesting about the property access.
I have a friend that is a grape grower just north of Paso.
I was thinking of giving him a call to see if he had any buddies over on Indian Valley Road that need some help with pigs. Last time I rode there I saw pigs everywhere.
Let you know if I hear anything worthwhile.
Regarding the termite inspector, I guess $800 now vs more later is a good thing eh?
Still can't get over that floor you uncovered.
This discussion prompted me to go check our pig guides web site. He is just now announcing that he has a new 82,000 acre property to hunt. That's great news, for him and for us! He hunts along Vineyard Canyon Road, so it is right in the same area that you mentioned.
On the termite thing, I already knew I had some termites and needed an inspection, but pulling that floor up forced me to do it right away. I found some live ones in a corner, and I thought I needed to get that sorted out before I laid the new hardwood. The inspector assured me that I could go ahead and lay the hardwood this weekend, and they had all the access they needed for treatment from the bottom. It's been 5 years since the last inspection and repairs, so I feel that $800 is getting away pretty cheaply.

Would you send me his info, I'd love to have another way to skin said cat.
I'll PM you my email address.
