Door key pad

I'm trying to reprogram a door key pad on an 04 king ranch f350. I searched on here and found the instructions. Looked under the dash and got the factory code,but I'm not able to even get the factory code to work. Any ideas?

Is it a wired keypad or a stick on one.

The wired keypads are very thin and are obviously part of the door. The stick on keypads are much thicker and you should be able to see the indents on the ends where you can pry it open.

If it's the stick on keypad, it has batteries that might be dead.

If it's a wired keypad, then there is a problem with the Vehicle Security Module. It might be a bad fuse. Do you have key fobs and do they work?

I think its a stick on. I can get it to lock the doors, but they wont unlock with the code.

If it locks the doors, the batteries are good and it's programmed right. Are you sure you got the right numbers off of the VSM? It should be a 5 digit code in large numbers.

im pretty sure. it was up on the firewall kinda behind the radio. big bold 5 digit number.
how would i go about changing the batteries? just to rule that out.
