Scangauge Mount

F350 2004 Lariat
Any good ideas on where and how to mount my ScangaugeII.

There really are not a whole lot of avaiable spaces. Did a search of the forum but not much came back

Any pictures or good ideas appreciated

The blendmount looks neat above the mirror but at $49 for the moutning kit is high for what it is

I use the blendmount. It comes with everything you need.
It's easy to remove the A-pillar enough to snake the wire
down there and into the area under the dash.

Mount the blendmount while sitting in the pass seat! it's much easier.

Great little device but I couldn't find a good place either. It currently lives in the cubbie hole that looks like it could be an ashtray. Sometimes it's rattling around in the cup holder.

In my 06 KR there is a spot just above the a/c vent (top and left of the radio) that would be perfect but I'm thinking of cutting a hole and mounting the SG flush. I have to investigate what's behind that area. I'll post some pics if I can make it work.

Run the cable under the panel beneath the steering column, then use your fingers to pull the wide weatherstrip away from the A pillar and put the cable below the weatherstrip. Exit the cable at the top of the dash. Velcro the ScanGauge to the top of the dash above the driver's air vent.

The unit is in your line of sight with only two inches of exposed cable. It's easy to reach and program and you're not hanging crap off your rear view mirror so your truck interior won't resemble a Manila taxi or Indian commercial truck.

It blocks the odometer and PRND32L display.

They fit perfectly in the dash cubby, and do a great job of hiding the Altoids from the kids.

I'm going for the Indian commercial truck look, myself.

I used 3M 2X sided tape and stuck it to the top of my rear-view then shoved the Cat5 up into the roof and down the A-pillar.

Or, how far you've gone. Or, your trip length. Or......

I'm sorry. Blocking any factory displays is just the lazy non thinking way to mount a Scan Gauge.

Maybe I'm taller than you but I can see what I need to. Not trying to start a debate however.
