I use the blendmount. It comes with everything you need.
It's easy to remove the A-pillar enough to snake the wire
down there and into the area under the dash.
Mount the blendmount while sitting in the pass seat! it's much easier.
Great little device but I couldn't find a good place either. It currently lives in the cubbie hole that looks like it could be an ashtray. Sometimes it's rattling around in the cup holder.
In my 06 KR there is a spot just above the a/c vent (top and left of the radio) that would be perfect but I'm thinking of cutting a hole and mounting the SG flush. I have to investigate what's behind that area. I'll post some pics if I can make it work.
Run the cable under the panel beneath the steering column, then use your fingers to pull the wide weatherstrip away from the A pillar and put the cable below the weatherstrip. Exit the cable at the top of the dash. Velcro the ScanGauge to the top of the dash above the driver's air vent.
The unit is in your line of sight with only two inches of exposed cable. It's easy to reach and program and you're not hanging crap off your rear view mirror so your truck interior won't resemble a Manila taxi or Indian commercial truck.
