pulled the oil cooler and it looks like crap lots of black sludge in the coolant ports priced a rebuild kit from my ford dealer and its only324 so thas not bad but im thinkin that while i have it this far down i may as well do the arp studs its just pulling the heads that has me concerned kinda looks like a pain with the motor in the truck and idk that i want to raise the cab but what choices do i really have
ok well pulled the heads it wasnt that much of a pita just a few nuts and lift the engine so i could get to the head bolts. now its time to get all the parts to put it back together
The studs are just as easy putting them back in. I believe on the driverside head you cant fit the back bolt in. I tapped it up just so it was flush with the bottom, put the head in at an angle, and pull the tape off.
It helped a lot having someone help put the heads back on.
The heads are in the shop now. They looked pretty good but I just want to make sure. Going to make a bracket to put the heads back on using a lift for that when its all said and done I'll give the dimensions for the bracket just to make it easier for someone else
