Reman IDM?

Reman IDM?
Has anyone used a reman IDM? There is a place on Ebay that has them for 139 dollars. I ran a buzz test on my truck the other day and they all sounded the same but at the end of the test I got a code P1298 IDM fail. On the cylinder contribution test I got two codes P0275 Cylinder 5 Balance and P1670 EF feedback not detected. Talked to the Ford dealership and the service manager told me that the IDM was bad and that he had seen IDMs fail and create a miss? Replace the IDM and that would fix my problem. Anyone else had this problem? Or is there something else I need to be looking for?

I had the VC off and done the clip mod and re torqued the rockers and injectors. One side had a new harness under the VC on the pass side I think. The book at the dealer said the P1670 code to check wires? but I didnt get it wrote down. Should have made a copy of it.

Ok Roland, I tested the wiring as shown in the bulletin. Got all 2.1 ohms on right bank, 2.4 to 2.9 on the left bank. It passed test 2 and 3 also. Anything else to test before I shell out the greenbacks for a IDM?

Other than swapping in a known good IDM, you've pretty much narrowed it down. Do you have an early or late '99?
