The camper thread! Pulling, using, equipment, maintenance!
Temperature swings are the only thing I can think of. It’s about 12 year old linoleum, but it wasn’t torn up or anything. No gouges, scratches to speak of. We’ve had some pretty significant temperature swings here this winter. It doesn’t appear to be glued down either, which means any shift in any of the structure from temperature and it’s moving independently. Ugh. Now to decide if I want to take the entire inside out to fix it, or just cut around everything. Not fun.
Going through camping withdrawals this time of year.

Crap, Scott, I still haven't shipped those frame brackets up to you! We are going to be in KY until the 18th, I'll get them moving up to you after that.
I tried to mount all 4 (our 3 and one borrowed one) kayaks on my roof rack crossbars, that didn't work. With the J cradles spaced as far outboard as possible and evenly spaced the boats were touching each other and I was afraid they would see some damage from it over the 1400 mile trip, so off they came. Weather forecast for Bowling Green isn't looking all that much like paddling weather anyway. I did plow the fresh 7"s of snow from the driveway last night when I got home from work to make out getaway easier tomorrow morning.
Tom, I'm not worried about it. Honestly I'm still hoping we might meet up in person for them, or at least end up with a more creative way of getting those parts up here. I'm not in a hurry because the Hensley is something I picked up anticipating the new, bigger trailer.. which may not even happen this year.
This morning the guy directly across from our campsite had the left tire of his Casita (fiberglass egg camper) off and was fiddling around with the brake drum. I walked over and asked if it was brakes or bearings, he replied "Did God send you here?, because I was just asking him to send me someone who knows what they are looking at". He had the brake drum/hub off and was looking at a pile of completely destroyed braked parts and had know idea what to do or even what he was dealing with other than a problem. The trailer was new last Fall with only 1K miles on it and the entire brake assembly had fallen apart leaving all of the brake parts to slide around in the ottom of the drum as they traveled. Everything was totally ground down and or twisted, nothing was undamaged and one lever was missing. The drum proved to harder than all the other parts as they were half ground away and the drum just had some uneven wear on both the magnet and friction surfaces. I have no idea what happened for sure but it looks like a failure of the magnet pivot maybe or something just wasn't right from the get-go. Fortunately the bearings and spindle looked perfect, so we repacked the bearings and reassembled it without the brake parts, just the empty drum with the cut wires taped off, he reset his factory TBC ('12 F-150) to the minimum setting, this should get him safely home (100 miles) as the trailer is only 2500lbs. He took pictures of the carnage and will be contacting the manufacturer (who has an excellent track record for service and customer satisfaction) to see about getting a new assembly shipped to him. I don't claim to be heaven sent, but I am very happy that I wandered over to see what he was dealing with, he turned out to be very nice guy who was struggling with an issue that was unfamiliar with while away from home. Getting him set up to get back home and seeing the relief on his face was well worth the effort!

No need to be so modest !!!!

Nice work !
I tend to do the same when I see a fellow camper having trouble. I always carry a basic set of tools when camping.
I can't tell you that the Hensley will make everything perfect but I can tell you that the last 35K towing miles with our '05 V-10 EX, Hensley Arrow and either the old 31' 9,500lb TH or the current 41' 11,300lb TT have been pretty enjoyable under nearly all conditions. We still feel the push and suck of passing trucks and strong crosswinds, but the combo reacts to these outside influences like a straight body truck vs a truck and trailer, there is no trailer wagging behind you with the HA hitch. With the combo moving together without any unwanted trailer movement the drive is much less demanding and tiring in my experience. On Friday we towed the big TT down to KY from just South of Philly (800 miles) with strong head and crosswinds for much of the trip through the mountains of Western MD and WV and even through the snow covered sections at the higher elevations the ride was never white knuckled, obviously I had to pay close attention due to the conditions but the rig was very predictable in its handling.
Where in the Philly area are you from? Media in Delaware County is home to us.
Having a poorly behaved trailering combo is no fun and can be very tiring on a long trip, been there, done that!

I know there will be some bow wave effect on our rig, but holy crap it's bad right now at times. Need to correct quickly, as it rear steers big time. Working on the wife and the Hensley, lol. She can feel it in the passenger seat, but doesn't drive the rig so she's not as invested in the idea. My sanity and our safety are my primary concerns.
How much is an extra margin of safety worth? Paid 1100 for mine slightly used, the deals are out there if you are patient and diligent in your search. If you want to help convince the wife, just show her this.
