Was pretty nice today and had a few Peaks of Sun.
Do you know if they check and greased the slide pins ?
It feels like the brakes are not releasing. So I am thinking it may be the rubber brake lines colapsing or maybe the master cylinder. Oh Yeah this is her husband, and when the brakes stick and the truck shakes something in her head rattles! Can you help me?!!! Please!!!!
As Mark Mentioned above, one of the biggest problems for us with sticky brakes is the slide pins, if they are not cleaned up and lubed, they will give you grief, even more so when the seize..
I am going to take things apart and check things out. Our fleet manager told me that he has never changed a master cylinder or the rubber brake lines on our trucks and we have about 25-30 Superduty's from about 100k to 500k miles. They feel good then they won't release and the truck shakes. So we were on a ride and it started ,so we were close to home and I pulled it in the garage and jacked up the drivers side and the tire was very hard to turn and then the brakes finally released and rolled free.
You have already had it in the shop for this right? I ask because I have also seen where the Sheet metal 'Locks" have been an issue, but I would have guessed they had that apart.
I really am with Mark on this one being the slide pins, they need to be clean, and greased, or they can cause grief.
Slide pins are my guess.
But IIRC, they changed the calipers too? (why they did i dont know)
If that is the case, it could be collapsed brake lines.
Them metal slides and the pads are just junk nowadays.
Changed brakes on a super duty, (which are horribly designed btw) and had to grind out all the notches so the brakes would slide properly on the metal slides.
