You have a point with more means of transportation in other countries.
I'll play the devils advocate now. If you purchased your house out in the country or rural area to get away from the noise and people then there are some consequences for that. example longer drives everywhere.

Yeah, I dont know about that, Like in Jasmins area, unless she wants to drive to Mount Pleasant, the food seems to be higher in her area ( Glens on 27 is my reference).
At least where she is at, she has the potential of better MPG, there isnt a damn light ever 1/4 mile, am I coming off bitter..

Jasmine its not your fault for moving there, it was a choise you had to do for the family, and that is understandable. I did the same thing buying a house 4 blocks away from my elderly grandparents (90's), and 1 mile away from my mother for childcare.
Believe me after doing what I do, I want to be out in the country with peace and quiet.
Side note to go and buy a car for $260 a month plus insurance for "x" amount of years is no away a profit savings anytime soon for the slight increase of diesel.

Yup Glens is always higher,,,, but so is the whole Town of Clare.
Its give and take city or country.. I love having my garden which would be hard to do in the city .
Well the Payments would only be for 2 1/2 Years. $ 260 is for the Payment and insurance. Its a 2001 Jetta so nothing new just something to drive in around here.
