Just walked in from the the park Cleanup, pretty good gig, I was proud of my son today. We were by the water and Christian went to pick up a bag, the bag ripped and a gun and sand pored out.
Christian has watched the NRA Eddie Eagle thing so many times I cant count.
He stepped back, got the closes adult, then ran and got me once the adult came up to stand by the area.
I was BEAMING as proud as I am about him. The other leader secured the area, called 911, I walked up and inspected the pistol, is was a 1911 full size Pellet gun.. Just the same, my boy did GOOD.
Always teach children about guns at a young age, so it sticks.
Stupid media. =\
Not sure where you are going with that...
as a 7 year old aproaches a gun with out an adult, I expect that the child will come and find an adult to make sure the weapon is safe, as in not loaded. I dont need a child playing cops and robbers with a "found weapon", or any weapon for that matter
As an adult, it is my job to teach my son when he is allowed to handle it, how to verify that it is "clear", how to make it function safely, and finally to hit the target..
they are great tools, or even toys when used with the upmost respect. I dont believe a Child knows that respect, yet. So yes, he is taught to come to me when he finds a gun.
and when he gets older, I hope he will come to me when he buys his own and wants to go to the range..
I am waiting to see what monday brings. Some are saying snow / rain, others are saying over cast. I hope it is over cast. I want to come over to the show. The truck is all ready, It is looking real good
See, It never happened.. still no pictures.. I guess he might be able to prove it if he wishes to drive through the 2-4" of snow tomorrow to the car show with it...

I learned about guns when I was 1 or 2.
I was shooting when I was 5 or 6. Long time ago, cannot remember.
I was really small.
