Those are awesome pictures Mat! I'm jealous. Wish we could've gone, but we go to the drags in Oct. not to mention, I think that NASCAR is more expensive. LOL! Were you using a digital camera or a 35mm? What film &/or shutter speed did you use? The clarity is amazing! Good job : )
Thank you Miss Donna. I agree that I think that NHRA is generally cheaper. I get my credentials via my media company, so I get lucky and don't have to pay a thing to go and I'm right up on the action. But then again, I'm actually working, so you can say there is a downside to it. LOL
As for my camera setup, I run all digital and my lenses vary depending on my need. However, for most of the shots I was running a Canon EOS 1D Mark II-N pro camera body (Digital SLR) with an EF 70-200mm f/2.8L lens on it. I also used a EF 17-40mm f/4L lens while in the pits for the wide angle shots.
As for my shutter speed and settings, they varied depending on the type of shots I wanted and if the sun was out or not. On some of them I was up around 1/2500th at f/5.6 to freeze the action, but when I did my panning/motion shots, I was shooting around 1/250th to 1/320th at about f/9-f/11 depending on light.
I also believe I ran ISO 200 for the entire day.
I'm sorry...did you want to know all of that or am I rambling?
I do hope you feel better and get better soon Miss Donna

Great pictures R1_Demon!
We survived the weekend wind in the Valley of Fire. It was 60 degs but the wind did blow, several campers just packed up the kids and left early. It was a weekend out of town which was nice.
Good Morning Steve, Scott & Nevada. Nice pictures David. looks just like the Valley of Fire. How close were you to the Big Horn sheep?
Craig
Probably about 100 ft, he is an old ram who is supposed to patrol the camp ground in the evenings. There were lots of people and dogs around but he didn't care!
Good evening Nevada,
Wow Donna, was this something that just came out of nowhere. I hope everything is alright. I dislike hospitals, them & jails are on the same plane as far as I'm concerned. The big difference is in the hospital they will drug you so the time goes by faster. Donna you sure have helped a great deal to bring the Nevada Chapter alive. I can't believe the Nevada Chapter has more posts on the chat board this month than Arizona. A first since I have been around.
Craig
Goodmorning Nevada!
Thanks Craig for the inspirational boost! : ) It's nice to know that I can help out in bringing subjects to life via conversations. LOL! But, I couldn't have done it if it weren't for all of you guys out there replying & posting a well. We all do our part to make this a successful site & it's AWESOME!!!! : ) Good job everyone!
Nice pictures David. I've only seen those rams way off in the distance around here.
Glad you're feeling better Donna!
Well, what a start to spring! 4" of snow and no power for 11 hours yesterday-so no heat & no water, had to camp out by the wood stove. Gotta love rural life!
Nice pictures David. I've only seen those rams way off in the distance around here.
When the ice melts and you get to travel south again you should check out Hemenway Park in Boulder City. As you leave BC and head down the hill towards the lake it's on your left. There are maybe 2-3 dozen sheep that seem to live near the park and eat the grass. Boulder City, NV : bighorn sheep photo
