Is there a F.D. across the street from the store? It's near the walker river resort?
We would go to the store for ice, etc., but it's about 5 miles up from our campsite near the river & across the river from us are dirtbike hills. Sound familiar at all?

That is the one. The County just built that Fire Station a few years before they sold out. If you came around back in the days when my in-laws owned it we may of crossed paths. My wife & use to set up my knives in front of the store one weekend a summer. I build custom knives. They use to have a parking lot full of vendors Memorial Day weekend or Labor Day weekend.
Had a warmer day up here on the mountain today. Pretty nice, some minor snow flurries this morning, cleared up, and now we have some light rain.
Missed a party yesterday that I had been looking forward to, but my knee failed me. Some better today but walking with a cane. Dammit.
11:30 pm update: Just took my dog out for final pee, and realized we are getting dumped on, two inches of fresh snow that all fell within the last two hours. Coming down pretty hard, wet dense snow.
Thought about taking the F250 out through the Valley of Fire yesterday, but then remembered the races, stayed home and pulled weeds! More fun than sitting in traffic.

If you have never been to the Valley of Fire it is well worth the trip. Even if you have it is a neat place.

I almost went to Logandale to go riding yesterday, and then remembered the race. I cut in a ceiling fan instead.

We've camped there a few times in the spring or fall, summer would be way too much fun! Summer time we go up to Kyle Canyon.
I bought the F250 in the fall and have replaced the EGR and engine cooler and then the water pump. So the trip was to scope out the camp grounds and see if anything else falls off before I hook the trailer on.
Maybe we'll run out there this Saturday and stop at Sugar's in Overton for lunch.
