I had a quick look at mine and my p/s isn't even close to interfering but you have a straight 6. My shroud is about 3"s deep plus in the center the motor is another say 1 1/4" past that. My closest interference is the center motor pulley where original fan was mounted which is now just bolted with 4 short bolts. I still have a good 1" of clearance. Have a look at where your rad is mounted to the rad support as there are a couple tabs or flanges it can bolt to. Look to see if you can bolt it up closer to the grill some more if needed..
About a year ago I installed an aluminum cross flow. It is tight on the bulkhead ... holy cow... unless I move it IN FRONT of the bulkhead. No! I ain't going there. I only have 3.5" from rad. to wtr. pump pulley. But my rad. core is 27" wide.
I may be able to fit the taurus fan in, but have not had time to fab up a replica out of foam to test fitment.
Oh heck, maybe I should splurge and go and buy one of the fans to test!
Would I ever need more than the 3500 cfm the Contour fan gives? Hauling in Baja, fully loaded, 110 degree heat, creeping along a trail ... yeah, could be!!
BTW, 74 ford guy, that is one exceptional rig you have!!
Thanks for the compliments it didn't really happen over nite, kinda 5 years to where I'm at now. I'm soon going to start a detailed build thread as I have many pics of every upgrade along the way...
As for your fan fit you may have to get creative and do some cutting. Post up a pic to show what your working with we'll make it work.
When I was at the boneyard the other day I noticed that the later towncars had beefy looking dual fans on them. If I remember right the shrouds measured almost 30" by about 20". Maybe it's something else to worth looking at, but they sure looked like a pain to remove. The core support goes all the way around and they may need to come out from the bottom.
I have reseached and five pages worth of links from google but can't find the answer to my question What temp switch/control bout 190 on 180 off is everyone using? I just want control low speed with this. I'm going to control high manually. I have a wiring diagram. Just need a link to a switch that doesn't cost my first born or a leg.

If you google Taurus fan install you'll find many write ups. In each of those they tell which controller they use, and give the part # too. A lot of guys just use an inexpensive adjustable one from Hayden, or the brand they have at Pep Boys, or A.zone.
You have to make sure that the low and high are never turned on simultaneously.
FYI, found a nice Ford relay and tray with fender mount on a 92 Merc Sable, which has the Taurus two sp. fan. They look nice and would make a nice clean installation. I grabbed two, plundered a 70 amp fuse from another vehicle, and headed for the pay counter at the local pyp.
The guy looks at it and says, 'five bucks for each relay, and five for each tray.' And that pissed me off. I asked if he wasn't going to charge for the five wires on each, or the mounting screw?
I guess I'm tight. I just don't want to feel like I'm getting ripped off. Long story short, I left them on the counter and walked away.
When they have their 50% off sale next week I'll go back and pick them up with the fan.
You guys are making this way too complicated. lol.
I'll try to explain, I don't have a premium account so I can't post a diagram.
Relabel your high relay #1 and low #2, run a wire from terminal 87 on the #1 relay to 30 on #2 . Nothing on #1 relay 87a.
On relay #2 87a goes to low speed fan, 87 to high speed fan.
85 on both relay 1 and 2 to 12v+ keyed switched. 86 on relay #1 goes to low fan control.
86 on relay #2 to high fan control.
Now if you buy the audi fan control, label it 1-2-3. it is a 3 pole control. terminal #2 goes to ground. 1 goes to #86, #1 relay. 3 goes to #86, #2 relay.
When that control reaches 88C it energizes #1 relay turning on low speed fan. when it gets up to 93C it energizes #2 relay activating high speed fan with both relays energized.
I hope you can follow? It is very simple. no diodes, no leds, no manual switches. And best of all, fully automatic operation.
Thanks for posting that. I am going to follow your corrections. How do you tell which prong corresponds to which #. Sorry, I'm new at electrical work. Pls. humor me.
And if I understand correctly, if I wanted to hook up an led light in the cab to tell when the fan is not working, I would connect it to relay #1, 87a? right?

I saw that you are in socal. I don't suppose you were at PYP Stanton or Anaheim. That's where I was Tuesday and will probably be again for the 50% off next weekend, possibly with another member. I wasn't thrilled about paying for the wiring that I pulled with the alts I bought but it wasn't unexpected and I saved a lot of time on the install.

I was at the Anaheim pyp. I'll surely be back there for the sale a week from tomorrow. You ought to pm me so we can tell some ford stories.Maybe we could meet up out there.

I went to both but had better luck down the road at Stanton. In fact a clean 76 supercab showed up when I left so I'd like to see if there's anything left of it next week. The folks at Ana were way more uptight. Me and Chasetruck754 were talking today about possibly going sunday since we both have plans saturday.

The prongs are marked on the bottom of the relay, its very small and molded into the plastic.
Yes. If you wanted a light, hook it up to #1 87a and the light will be on when the fan is off, and vise versa.

I'll be at pyp on Sat., and at the auto Swap meet Sun. All weekend the pyp's will be a war zone with that sale.
If clearance is an issue, and the water pump pulley is the flat type, could the balance of the WP shaft be cutoff (that witch extends past the pulley toward the fan)?
My 300 has that cone shaped one that I am going to replace with a flat one.
Following closely & getting ready, pulled the T fan and two 3G's today.
Unfortunately I won't be making the yard trip this weekend as some friends are throwing a belated b-day party for me on Sunday now, and Saturday I'll be busy wearing a flight suit and driving a US Navy hovercraft
I do have a friend here in So. Cal. that has both a big block and small block ZF-5 for sale. PM me for contact info if you want it F-250 Restorer.
