Mama has a new oven that works! First time in over a year that there's been an oven in this place (other than a "toaster oven"). Irreplaceable gas valve went bad in the old one. It's a shame, too, as it was one of Chambers' finest, but probably 45-or-more years old.
This one's electric, so I DID have to pull new #8 wires in place of the old #12's. New breaker was over $60. Ouch! That's what I get for having a Zinsco box.
Good job, Pop. That would be tough not having an oven. My wife would probably give our first born for a double oven. I think you will like the electric oven. I personally cannot stand an electric stovetop, but seems like an oven would be pretty good.
I finished the sink yesterday morning. Momma is happy, and I was able to turn it into an anniversary gift to ourselves, so I'm happy too.
Marge would say I was "cheating" if I tried to pull that idea off!
She's not big on baking or anything, but it's tough to do a frozen pizza any other way.
She used to do a big Thanksgiving dinner, and it came in REAL handy to have two ovens, but now it was just so I didn't have to modify the cabinet work.
We had an electric range top here for twenty years, but changed to gas about ten years ago. My preference in stove tops, too!
No domestic repairs here, although the roof does need a skylight leak fixed. I did get the truck washed and the stacks polished, but workin 6 days a week, I don't tend to get much done on Sundays. It's my time to vegetate.
Every once in a while it'll stop working and throw a trouble code for not emptying the water in the prescribed amount of time. I had it apart last week and found an ink pen jammed into the pump area. Took it out and it worked ok afterward, but I suspect some damage was done since it's been making an odd noise since then.
