I would have grabbed the alum wheels. When you said 5 spoke, I was expecting steel like mine.
This tire/wheel combination only weighs a little over 61 pounds. The ProComp 17x9/BFG 315/70 combo I have on there now is pretty close to 80 pounds. Should help the truck get off the line a little quicker.

No lugs, no center caps...though I wouldn't have used the caps on the front anyway because I like to manually engage the hubs when racing. Should be able to pick up some lugnuts pretty easily if I have to.
I'll be out to Irwindale a couple times before the season opens to get a feel for things...shouldn't be too tough to make the necessary adjustments. No tougher than before, anyways.

For rotating mass vs. dead weight I've heard figures ranging from 1lb = 7.5lbs to 1 lb = 10 lbs. I don't know if 100 lbs of dead weight equals .1 sec or not.
So theoretically if I'm saving say, 72 pounds of rotating weight that could equal up to the equivalent of 720 pounds of dead weight over the old tire/wheel combo. There's no way that'll make the truck .72 faster in the quarter, but I think between that and it's being a shorter tire (30.5" instead of 34.5") it's realistic to expect 2 or 3 tenths.
you know i was told a while ago that a shorter tire will lower you gear ratio slightly. i don't know if its true or not. they have one for stock car racing i have a couple of books with that formula in it. for drag racing i have no idea.
