And, we're back!

It was like an obstacle course driving to work today. BIG potholes, and a lot of them, plus leaves and palm fronds.

Since the streets don't get swept when it's rainy like this, Long Beach puts all of their parking control people on palm frond detail. Gail's been picking them up for a few days now.

Don't bother with the pump, Steve. It's coming back over the weekend.

You may be pouring concrete in February! I've had jobs like that!

One that I distinctly remember was the new home for the editor for the L.A. times. That was in LaCanada Flintridge over ten years ago, and took about three months to complete the foundation alone.

It started raining on the day we finished the compaction testing on the pad, and must have been some kind of El Nino year. What a mess!

Ya' throws da' dice, and youze takes yur' chances......

What's coming this weekend won't add much. I've got water standing in the footings that needs to be gone...we'll be forever waiting for all of it to soak in.

They're pumping it out today.

That's probably half again more than we got down here.

You gonna empty 'em out for the next round, or let it ride?

When I read that, I thought ya sure, but the news at lunch time had 7 day storm totals that are similar. As much as 25" in some foothill areas.

Hey Steve you don't own one of those water sewage pumps? For what you spend to rent it a few times you can buy one.

Hey everybody.
