as far as keeping valves and stuff from bending yes, but it won't prevent the dilution of the oil. diesel evaporates out of the oil very slowly. in the short run we can live with that, but in the long run you wouldn't want to be deliberately be thinning your oil down with diesel. it doesn't make a very good lube.
