How many of y'all remember...?
  • When it took time for the TV to "warm up" (Radio Tubes?)
  • Laundry detergent had free glasses, dishes, or towels hidden inside.
  • School's threatened to keep kid's back a grade if they failed, and they did.
  • Stuff from the store came without safety caps and seals because no one poisoned strangers.
  • When being sent to the principal's office was nothing compared to what waited for you at home.
  • Summer's filled with bike ride's, Hula Hoops, and Kool Aid.
  • Howdy Doody.
  • The Peanut Gallery.
  • The Lone Ranger.
  • The Shadow Know's.
  • Nellie Bell.
  • Roy & Dale.
  • Trigger and Buttermilk.
  • How many of these do you remember...?
  • Candy Cigarettes.
  • Wax Coke Shaped bottles with colored sugar water inside.
  • Soda pop machines that dispensed glass bottles.
  • Coffee and Ice Cream parlors with table side Juke Boxes.
  • Blackjack, Clove and Teaberry Chewing Gum.
  • Home milk delivery in glass bottles with cardboard stoppers.
  • Newsreels before the movie.
  • Telephone numbers with a word prefix. (Ex: Yukon2-601)
  • Pea Shooters.
  • Hi-Fi's and 45 RPM Record's.
  • 78 RPM Record's were the "new" thing.
  • Green Postage Stamp's.
  • Mime-0-graph paper.
  • The Fort Apache Play Set.
  • Do you remember when...?
  • Having a weapon in school meant bein' caught with a slingshot.
  • Saturday Morning cartoons were actually worth waking up for.
  • Oly-Oly-Oxen-Free made perfect sense.
  • The worst embarrassment was gettin' picked last for a team.
  • War was a card game.
  • Baseball card's in the spoke's of any bicycle transformed it into a motorcycle.
  • Taking "drugs" meant orange, chewable flavored aspirin.
  • Water balloons were the ultimate weapon.
  • If y'all can remember most of these, then you have lived. I wish I was as lucky as you guy's...This was fun typin' all this out by hand, with a typewriter... Sorry for the flashbacks.

Good pick Marv. Today I honor my Step-father, USMC. Semper Fi. My grandfather, Army. My other grandfather,Air Force. Who Dares, Wins.

I honor my fallen brethren, the group I grew up with. Out of high school, they enlisted, and now our group of 12 has dwindled to 3. 2 are still fighting.

I also honor all service men and women. Thank you all and god bless.

Man,it would figure. high winds again. We're talking trees being riped up from the ground type of winds, and I get to foot patrol in it. Oh joy. I won't be patrolling for long though. If it gets too damn windy, theres no way I can effectively do my job. Especially with debris flying like it was last night. This should be interesting.

See ya'all in the morning.

Nope. I'm probably going to be in my car or the office most of the night. I'm not risking being out there for what I get paid.

Thanks guys. Much appreciated. I'm hoping the combination of cold plus high winds will keep the stupid people away.

We gotta another old vintage Singer.
Wanna see picture's...? (All I had was my cell phone)

This one was free, it's a little rough.
It even has the orginal woden case, which is falling apart.
As well as an oil can, and this one has a engine, and is all there, it has a light as well. It's a Model 99, The Treadle one down stairs is a 127 Model.
(As you can see, it's not as ornate as the 127.)
