Now that basketball season is here, I guess it's a good time to familiarize ourselves with the 2010/2011 Laker's lineup

Do you get the entire week off for Thanksgiving? Seems like more schools are doing that now. If you don't, I think you should protest.

Long Beach Unified gets the full week off.

We never got the entire week off for Thanksgiving when I was in school...but we never started school in August, either.

What's the difference whether the kids are in school or not?

They don't learn anything there, anyway!

Our educational system today is nothing more than a glorified, and high-priced, baby-sitting service for most attendees.

Fortunately, there are at least some exceptions, but only a handfull.

Most of them can't locate North America on a globe, nor do they care to.

Nope. Started school in 1951 in North Hollywood. A year later moved to Panorama City. We were all the same back them at those locations.

Not here, either. All our schools were integrated, and when busing became an issue we didn't understand what all the fuss was about. But we didn't have enough black kids in the neighborhood for it to be an issue. I guess you would have to say the neighborhood was segregated. If that was intentional or forced, I can't say.

What you said was the case here, too.

Not too many other ethnicities in the SFV in the early '50's, at least where I was. Pacoima had Blacks, San Fernando had Latinos, very-few Asians at all, but if at school, we were treated all the same.

nCalled over to OC Diesel to ask for the clip that holds the harness for the unjectors on my 7.3L. Wow those guys are awesome. Dealers here were idiots, they didn't even know what I was talking about.
