In part, they cite California's ARB as a source of information. I don't know much about the Connecticut Department of Health's political leanings, but it is wouldn't be much of a stretch to argue CARB policies border on eco-terrorism.

I've spent some time on RV forums and when people get a rig that stinks and they can't get rid of the smell, even by replacing the carpet and upholstery; the ozone generator always works. I haven't seen a post where someone tried it and it didn't work.
You are correct on the source. Oddly enough, a friend stopped by to talk to me last night at work and this topic came up. He used to work at a car dealership and they used ozone generators to get the smoke smell out of vehicles. He said an overnight with the generator and a spritz of 'new car smell' and they were good to go.

I think I will look into finding a place to rent one and see how it goes. I won't be driving the explorer until December, so I have some time.

Still need to patch the antenna holes in the roof and get the decal residue off.

Out of curiosity, what are y'alls thoughts about the new "Similar Threads" stuff at the bottom of the page? Or, let me put it another way: I find it a waste of space when I'm scrolling down to find the "Quick Reply" box, and I've not seen anything in it that has been the least bit useful.

Here's what I'm looking at today:

So, has anyone found the "Similar Threads" addition to be helpful? And, what are your thoughts?

Gary, you can collapse it.
Click the icon on the right of the banner.

Yes, it's useless waste of space. (and bandwidth)
But I find the same of adsense of keywords making hyperlinks in my posts.
Too much bull**** going on here.

Contact IB directly or one of the admins in the 'site announcement' forum.

I got my LED cargo lights from China today.
New 'Severe Duty' Motorcraft pads for the front.

Ordered a fresh pair of tires for winter.

Cool! I didn't know I could collapse it. Have done and hope it stays that way.

As for contacting IB, I have on other things and have yet to hear back so won't bother on this one.

I'm anxious to see your cargo lights. Or, maybe I should say "see the light from them" as they may not be truly visible.

Jim, since you've probably got the highest mileage truck here. What are the best brake pads/shoes you've used? I don't need brakes for probably another 10 years, but when I do. I'd like to put some good pads/shoes on.

I bought a pair of these:

20W of LED light should make a BIG difference as I load and unload my truck in the dark this winter.

"Best" is many things to many people.
What are your driving habits?
How much do you care about rotor life?
Water/mud an issue?

Semi metallics were the thing, but ceramic pads are getting better every day.

Less scoring and dust than metal.
Far better wet performance than organic

These lights are meant to illuminate fountains - from the bottom of a pond or pool.
If I exceed a meter with them mounted in my lumber rack I have big problems!

Never tried Hawk.
never had enough traction to overwhelm the brakes.
