I put new tires on the rear and Motorcraft severe duty pads in the front.

I need ANOTHER rear hub seal after cooking the drums driving 20 highway miles with the parking brake on....

Gary,
That's in the advanced reply window.
Supporters can attach pictures directly to their posts.
All others need to load them to their gallery ( making them IB's property) or host them on a photo sharing site and post the BBcode

Bummer! But you just reminded me of an upgrade I'm going to make on Dad's truck. The 81's don't have a switch on the e-brake mechanism like the later ones do. I'll add that to tell me if that brake is on.

Oh! I'd forgotten that. Thanks for the clarification.

Bob - Looks good. What piston did you use and what compression ratio? And, what intake?

And here's proof of the off-roading trip with the grandtwins:

Performer 2171. Not sure of pistons, maybe forged. Had motor built. I know my limits, and let somebody who knows how do it.

Looking good Bob!
We all say "Pic's or it didn't happen"

Your engine looks lonely in there.
But you can't make it easier to get in place than pulling the whole front clip!

Well, I took a video, but it wouldn't upload to my host from the phone and the PC is down without a fan. So I am hoping Gary has time to help me out.

Also, shopping for bushings.

We did have a bit of fun! But my daughter went along, sitting sideways on the end of the bench since the twins were belted in, and she didn't have much to hold onto so I had to be somewhat ...... sedate. One of these days she'll let me out with her prized possessions without her going.

As for safety, the trip was her idea. But, we were in 4lo so didn't get up much speed. However, on turns I felt some pulsing, like maybe a front u-joint is bad, so I need to check Rusty out a bit further.

Critter - It acts like you have privacy set as it says "others may not be able to see this due to privacy settings" when I try to do anything. Can you email the video to me?

And, by the way, IT SOUNDS GOOD!

Gary,
It's likely just the front wheels being locked a slow speed.
If you try that on dry pavement you will see the same 10X.

Ackerman understands steer angles.

Jim - I'd forgotten about that Brit. And, I hope you are right. Here's a link to the Wikipedia blurb on it. Thanks.
