David - I think you are right. Ian said "Pop Pop, put the truck up high." So we did. I set the arms on the lift and he pushed the button.

Say Gary, where did you get that bed mat for Rusty, I have been looking for one that will fit my '82

No idea, sorry. It was in Dad's truck when I got it and I know he had it a number of years. But, I'll see if it has a name on it.

I started to put the seat covers on the truck; it was too windy and cold to continue.

I'd pull it in the shop, but it's currently occupied by the Explorer. Have the ozone generator running. We'll see how that works out.

Gary, I think kdbenton was being sarcastic. Perhaps he was referring to the red drop cloth or blanket???

By the way, looking at Rusty from underneath, one can see "Swiss cheese holes" in the frame. Aren't you afraid that it will bend or break? Now, who is being sarcastic!

Thanks for the explanation, David. I'm even more ...... oblivious or naive now than normally since I only get to check in for a few minutes at a time due to the "help" I am enjoying. But, the red bed rug is part of Rusty's red-headed step-child garb. Seems to fit right in, no?

As for the Swiss cheese frame, I'm not too worried. Rusty spent his life as a farm truck in a pasture (remember the cRusty stage?), so if that didn't bend the frame it isn't likely anything will. Judging by the bent tailgate and front of the bed they hauled huge bowling ***** and delighted in stopping and starting rapidly. (Yes, I know you were being sarcastic. )

Got one of the coil/shock towers installed. Turns out I need to drill two holes into the frame. Yikes.

But it works for now with four bolts.

I replaced the upper radiator <strike>balloon</strike> hose on my tow truck today. Yeah, it's an 87, but it's got a carb'd 460 with a DSII ignition and I'm a bullnose guy at heart. It does have the ZF 5spd though... At some point I'm going to swap the front clip to make it look like a bullnose. It looked like the upper hose was original...

I used mine to bring a dog bed to the woman that took in the German Shephard puppy that I saved off the canal today. I think it is a shepherd. It is so emaciated it looks like a coyote.
