Ford Bronco Pickup Renderings

Even though the idea is reportedly dead, this Raptor version of a Ford Bronco pickup is a truly compelling possibility.

For some years – even before the sixth-gen SUV debuted in 2021 – rumors that a Ford Bronco pickup was in the works swirled around the internet. While some types of speculation seem a bit off, that wasn’t the case here at all, because there are several reasons why Ford might want to make a Bronco pickup – for starters, Jeep already makes a Wrangler pickup dubbed the Gladiator, and secondly, such a model existed way back in the 1960s when the Bronco was still in its first generation. Regardless, the new Ford Bronco pickup was reportedly nixed some time ago, so those of us that want one can only check out these renderings from the YouTube channel AutoYa and dream of what could have been.

Obviously, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen a Ford Bronco pickup rendering, as many artists have tried their hand at creating such a thing. However, this particular example is a bit different than those other attempts for one big reason – it’s actually a Bronco Raptor with a bed, which is pretty darn interesting. Better yet, we think it looks pretty amazing, too.

The ultra-wide fenders present on the Bronco Raptor don’t look half bad with the rear section transformed from a cargo area into a proper pickup bed, and the massive 37-inch tires give it a properly tough look as well. The Bronco Raptor is obviously an aggressive machine, and that translates well to this particular body style. Perhaps more importantly, it also doesn’t have some ultra-long bed that makes it look a bit unevenly proportioned, which is the case with the Gladiator.

While a Ford Bronco pickup of any kind – let alone a Raptor – now seems unlikely to happen, it’s certainly easy to make a business case for one. After all, FoMoCo ditched sedans in North America years ago to focus on crossovers, SUVs, and pickups, and has only expanded that lineup in recent history.

While it already has the Ranger occupying the mid-size space riding on the same T6 platform, we don’t truly view it as a hinderance to a potential Bronco pickup, which is an open-air, lifestyle vehicle rather than a more conventional truck. Regardless, unless Ford has a change of heart (fingers crossed), it seems as if these renderings are as close as we’re going to get to seeing this idea come to fruition.
