VIDEO: 1,000 HP Twin-Turbo V8 F-150 is an Absolute Monster!!!
Meet ‘Gator’, a 1,000 horsepower twin-turbo V8 F-150 built by OnDGas Racing in Houston Texas. (Do NOT race this truck.)
When it comes to stock F-150s, it’s hard to beat Ford’s 3.5L EcoBoost lineup. Twin turbos add gobs of torque where you need it. The Coyote family of V8s, by comparison, trade torque for high-revving. (They were made for lighter Mustangs, after all). But here’s a twin-turbo V8 F-150 named Gator that demonstrates what happens when you mate Ford V8 power to EcoBoost-esque twin-turbo goodness.
Built by OnDGas Racing, out of Houston, TX, this 2019 F-150 features a 5.2L GT500 block — which is, of course, still a member of the Coyote family — that’s been re-sleeved to handle boost. The boost comes from a pair of 64mm turbos, courtesy of Midnight Performance. With a Plazmaman intake, custom hood-exiting exhaust, and a tuned stock PCM, Gator makes roughly 1,000 horsepower on E85. And that’s before OnDGas driver, Beto, dumps in a shot of Nitrous.
How much Nitrous? He won’t actually say.
According to Beto, Gator is mostly stock when it comes to suspension, but they are running Viking shocks. The truck, which is a 4×4 model with a built 10-speed transmission, weighs 4,500 pounds. On the inside, however, Gator is pure race truck. Goodbye carpets, headliners, and factory seats. And if you wanted side-view mirrors, sorry, they’re gone too.
For the purposes of its This vs That drag race series, Hoonigan paired Gator up against a 900-horsepower front-wheel-drive K-swapped Honda Civic for three 1,000-foot races. I won’t spoil the results here in this post, but it’s well worth the watch even if you aren’t into tuner cars.
The race is a perfect example of peak power versus curb weight. Not to mention driver reaction times.
Regardless of this specific race, Gator is an absolute monster that screams its turbo-boosted V8 symphony as it lays down strips of burnt rubber for what seems like hundreds of feet. That folks like Beto can actually pilot and control such an unholy beast speaks to how well he can drive. (And how well the OnDGas team did with their build and race prep.)

In addition to the official Hoonigan video, OnDGas also released their version of the events where you get to see more of a behind-the-scenes look at how they approached the race. (Pro-tip: race trucks need time to cool down!) Also, here’s a quick list of Gator’s features:
