I just took delivery a couple weeks ago. Been driving a lot to hit the 1000 mike break-in. I noticed while driving around my trans temp would be as high as 211. I pulled a 10000 lb camper 60 miles today and the temp was 218. I did not think much about it until I seen.my brothers 21 Ram diesel. He pulled 13000 lb camper to the exact place I did. His trans temp was 184. Are these high temps normal?
Mark what would you recommend for service interval? I've been recommending fluid exchange at 50k and filter around a 100k to my customers but, am considering doing shorter intervals on my personal 10R100 and adding a deep sump aluminum pan.
Before 2008 the filter was good for the life of the trans. Starting mid year 2008 with the 5R110W the internal filter became a real filter that does need to be changed. I recommend 60K on that filter.

On my 2013 6 speed I changed the fluid and filter at 50K and the filter was do to be changed, I changed it again at 100K and it was clean a long with the pan. I don't plan on ever changing the filter again.
On the 6 speeds when customers come in with the torque converter shudder, most have never been serviced so we always recommend starting with the trans filter and fresh fluid before going to the torque converter. The 10r's are a different animal
