Transmission Temperature ???

The last few days, I have let the 6.0 with a tourqushift run for 15 mins. or so in the morning before going anywhere......I have a habit of glanceing at the guages as I'm pulling out the driveway, and both days the Trans Temp Guage was already up to operating temp...... When I just let It run a min or so, iot took a few miles to come up to temp.......

Do these things build trans temp just sitting there???

The engine temp was also climbing, but not quite to operarting temp......Any one else notice this???

Thanx

trevor

Yep, it is normal. i understand that the sensor for the trans temp is near exhaust and that is why the temp shows heat first. Anybody validate that?

it is summer time, wait until winter to see if your trans temp comes up so fast.
not to mention operating temp for the trans starts much lower temp. than your engine.
as far as picking up heat from the exhaust, fluids conduct heat 10 times faster than air.

Even more so in winter. I have had mine for more than a year.
