Have any of you installed either the high idle or remote start kits? If so, have you been happy with them? They look super simple & reasonably priced. Also would these mods void the warranty?
I've had a 12 volt solutions remote start on my '18 6.2, my '19 6.2 and now my '19 6.7 (same kit, I just kept transferring it over). I called them to confirm compatibility before making the swap and it worked perfectly every time. No issues at all, they say it works with the glow plug delay and as it's getting colder, I'm noticing that it takes an extra second to start in the morning so I believe their statement is accurate. Their customer service has been great. I had to reset the unit when I moved it from the gasser to the diesel and they walked me through it over the phone. I do not have any experience with the high idle kit but would recommend their remote start kit. Install takes all of 5 minutes, the longest part is securing everything with zip ties, the rest is all plug and play.
Ford accessories has remote start items that are plug and play for your truck. You have to add the perimeter vehicle security system and then add the antenna along with remote fobs to get remote start via fob. You might need a hood switch also.
You can find used long distance remote start fobs on ebay for less. Search for FCC ID ELVATRPE. This is the bi-directional fob. Even if it says Suburu on it, it will work.
It is all pretty much plug and play. A visit to the dealer to turn it on might be required.. You will need to get a copy of the Ford install instructions and follow them.
Their instructions says to disconnect the Upfitter Harness. Makes me wonder if this disables the Upfitter switches?
I had the exact same question and concern before purchasing the BD high idle kit for my 2017. I'm happy to report that the Upfitter switches DO work after installing the high idle kit.
