I know i read on here not too long ago about someone saying they used their aux button on their remote start keychain to kick their truck into high idle. I'm wondering if that can really be done, and if so, how is it wired b/c i'd like to add that feature to my aux button on my keypad. I would assume the only thing you would have to do differently is have the parking brake already engaged when you get out of your truck and then after you start it and it runs for a min hit the aux button and in to high idle she goes?????? I appreciate any ideas!!
Your truck should already bump up the idle after about a minute or two of idling. I have a remote start and the high idle mod, but I don't know why you'd want to connect the two.
It does ramp up a bit but not to 1200 rpm like it does when i flip my upfitter switch. I'd like to have the option available to me, it would come in handy, that's all.
If there is an extra set of contacts on your remote start relay tied into the aux button (I'm assuming there would be, but never hooked one up, not 100% sure) then all you would need to do is send 12 volts through it to the same wire you tied into for your high idle mod (purple/green?). Basically, it would just parallel the upfitter switch you're already using, either one would activate the high idle when turned on.

It would be pretty easy to do then. All you would need is an extra relay coming off your alarm/remote start that ties in to the wire coming from your switch to kick up the idle. They do it to open doors, windows etc all the time. Your best bet would be to read the instructions for your system. I'd reason to bet it gives at least a brief explanation in there. If not, it would be a pretty easy set up for an installer.
