I am considering converting my Ex to a dually. I have located a 2006 dually rearend with the same gears as my rear. My Ex is a 2004 4X4 so I am interested in how easy the physical installation would be to put the 2006 rear in a 2004 Ex. Any comments appreciated!! Thanks, Max
Retrieving the axle from the place of purchase in a Honda and Working on a gravel driveway with a bottle Jack is going to be a big chore where as moving the axle on a flat bed trailer is a breeze, a concrete slab, Jack stands, air tools, and a coupme of floor jacks makes physically installing an axle a physical a straight forward task.
Guys appreciate the concern about the physical handling of the dually rear but I've got all that covered. I'm mainly concerned about the fitment of the 2006 to the 2004 and if anything needs to be changed to make it fit what is it?

I'll probably end up buying a set of the available fenders but not sure yet. I'm mainly interested in functionality rather than cosmetics and I could live with any that I have seen.

Not trying to knock your idea, but what point of functionality are you seeking with the dual rear setup?
WE3ZS, I know it's been said many times on this forum and by my personal experience towing both with duallys and 3/4 ton vehicles there is just no comparison. A dually tows best due to its stability I've had both Chev and Dodge duallys and Dodge and this Ford 3/4 ton trucks. The duallys tow best and all of the mentioned vehicles were gas engines. That's the functionality I mean. I do not really want another dually truck because I am tired of pickups. I love the Ex it would be just a greater vehicle with dual rear wheels.
wpnaes, I was looking for information here before I travel to see/buy the rear end. I really like your list and will use it in my assessment. I was just hoping someone had done the switch and could provide their experience.
Weak, go all out. Local builder makes these things. Started life as an Excursion and evolved from there. Megacab dally flares make for a pretty damn clean look IMO, haven't liked any of the other flares on dully Excursion conversions.
