If you drill it out I would suggest bringing that cyl to the bottom of TDC (valves closed) and remove the injector. Put an adapter in the injector orifice and pump compressed air into the cyl so that, MAYBE debris will not fall into the cyl. I think the only way to correctly remove this is to remove the head. Anyway, you are lucky it didn't drop in the cyl and ruin your engine. Keep us posted, please.
when you get that one out and put a new one in put high temp anti seize on the threads thats what i did when i put in my new plugs. i would pull the head if i were you... could get metal shavings in the cylinder then you'll be screwed
Tell me thats not that new engine you just got..........? In the future the day before you want to remove GPs take a little liquid wrench or something and put around the threads and let it soak. Especially if you dont know if the previous guy used anti sieze or not.
Yup, the engine I JUST got, and it was broken off before I got to it, I just couldn't see it when I looked at the engine the first time cause it was so dirty.
And Oreo you don't know the half of it, I think this truck is just gonna kick my *** the whole time I own it.
Okay, I had a similar problem when I had a badly rusted spark plug twist off and leave the threads and outer electrode behind, while bitchin about to one of my buddys, he said to poke a rod or screw driver in the hole and push the electrode out of the way, the get a tube and small funnel and warm them up, pour some parrafin in the funnel and it will seal the bottom of the bore off, that's where any metal will fall.
Take the plug out and useing the same tube hook it to a vacumn cleaner and suck the stuff out while moving the tube around.
I tried it and it worked, when I restarted the truck the parrafin melted and smoked awhile then all was good.
Same idea if you take the injector out, but I think that you could do them same thing using STP or some other thick stuff, if you can get it down the hole.
Just an idea and seems to have worked for me, I can't tell any ill effects on the Blazer, but hey, it's a GM so how can you tell anyway?
