Someone brought in a back issue of Dirtwheels magazine tonight. I couldn't help but open it when I noticed the front cover had "47s on 1/2 ton running gear" and "Build a bulletproof Dana 44" as their feature articles.
Article 1- 77 Cherokee, 401ci engine, 47" pitbulls, 4.10 gears, stacked rear blocks and its the CENTERFOLD of this POS magazine! Seriously WTF! Prime example of why people on this site and others build **** poor trucks and get butthurt when their build is criticized.
Article 2- Ultimate 44. This effer would probably cost 5 grand to build. Dynatrac pro rock 44 housing. 3x.500 dom tubes, Dynatrac inner cs, Reid Racing knuckles, ARB 5.13s, RCV birfs, some weird bling daddy balljoints,
Intended use? 4.0 Wrangler on 35s.
Again, this is prime example of inflating the dreams of HS kids that can barely afford a DD much less a 5k axle.
Is it too much to ask for realistic builds with readily available junkyard and aftermarket parts on a realistic budget for the target audience?
