It just crank/but no start, get the truck towed get it home start it up the next day and it ran good for like 5 mins and then shut down. Replace my distributor with a genuine ford unit runs great now.But that was my experience.

Hi, I'm just bumping you up to the top and wishing you luck. It's best to start with more information about your truck, test voltage and charging, pull codes and test fuel pressure. But I will venture a WAG and say it is probably the PIP in your distributor. If you want to search for more info, use the name subford in your search. He has helped several people through similar problems lately and has good technique for isolating the problem, separating ignition problems from system problems. Several people, while chasing similar problems, have replaced the whole ignition system(PIP, ICM, coil, cap, rotor, wires). Don't go to the nearest chain store and buy cheap crap made in china. For example some "rebuilt" distributors come with recycled PIPs. So you buy a cheap distributor and then have to go back and replace the PIP again.

Note that this Thread is eight years old.
You need to start a new Thread for your problem.
But yes it sounds like a bad PIP sensor.
