Just joined and after a friend told me about it. Have spent the past 2 days reading and I wish I had found this place years ago. Y'all have convinced me that I probably made a bad decision upgrading my air intake to the K&N Kit 2 years ago.
Here is my problem. I put on the K&N filter and air tube. I can't find my stock tube and box. I think I threw it away. I'm going to do the 6673 and ZooDad Mod when I get back from vacation in a couple weeks. Will the 6673 air filter fit on the K&N tube or do I need to go buy and new stock tube? If they don't fit together is there anything that I can to do make them fit?
Thanks to all. Y'all have been very informative and extremely helpful so far.
The 6637 fits on the end of the K&N Tube. A little long, but I haven't cut it off yet (I will be cutting my tube back about 1 inch from the end at the filter). We don't have to fabricate a shield for our filter. We paid lots of money for one
Sorry Clay, but when I do my wicked wheel installation, I will pay better attention to the RiffRaff IC boots and not covering up your logo.
Until I looked at these pictures that I posted, I didn't notice that I didn't do a better job of "displaying" your product. That red AIH delete plug shows up well however.
Bobby, thanks for the pics. I will be doing that mod as soon as I get back from vacation. I need to do a lot of cleaning to my 7.3. It doesn't look that good. Should I also remove the foil on the up tube next to the K&N tube?
I just did the 6637 kit from clay and couldnt be happier with the look of it! Im going to take a picture in a minute and I could post it. And with the zoodad mod has anyone experienced any water getting up into the filter?? I know its been talked about before Im just a little hesitant about it and want to ask before I cut some holes. Sorry to hijack the first question at hand.
Jazz, the foil delete mod is a couple of hours project. The glue is tough stuff. I did mine to keep from cutting my fingers when I worked around the up pipe.
If you take your K&N off of the end of your tube, you can put a NAPA 6637 on the end like I did. You can get the RiffRaff cover by itself from Clay. The box that came with the K&N kit is something that other guys are building themselves out of sheet aluminum. You won't have to do that.
