Trying to figure out the wiring harnesses. I have one that is fused with a relay. A second harness that is fused with a piece that is larger than a relay with 10 wires going in to it (I am assuming this is the hi/low switch). Two ballasts and bulbs. Do I need to connect both harnesses to the battery? and are the grounds floated off the relay harness?
Yes, you will wire two separate wires direct to the battery. In my case, one side went to one battery and the other side to the other battery. It just laid out best that way. And yes again, two grounds as well. If it helps, I laid out everything on top of the engine and got the wiring right before I committed to the final routing. Easier to confirm everything works and then worry about conduit and wire-ties.
Yesterday I ordered the 35w slim ballast kit with the hi/low relay and based on information of DDM Tuning's product page (it stated that most American and European vehicles could power the 35w without the harness) I didn't order the harness. Now I'm wondering if I made a mistake by not getting the harness? ... it was cheap. Does the harness serve as insurance in this instance with 35w vs 55w or is it completely unnecessary?

If you read post #52, SDETWEIL said he got along without a harness. Said the ballasts came with one. In my case, I ordered it separately and needed it. DDM Tuning must have changed something or started including the harness with the kits. ???
I'm no expert (that can't be understated!), but I understood there was a hi/low relay harness that was distinct and separate from the wiring harness. The hi/low relay harness is included with the hi/low kits. It is the wiring harness I did not get and was refering to in the post above. I believe the wiring harness is depicted in post #54 for $12.50. Sorry for the confusion.
I installed the HIDs today and it took me about an hour and half. Everything looks fine so far, just have to wait for dark to go for a test drive. I also marked the original beam on the wall to see if there was any change or adjustment needed after install but the beam had the exact same cutoff. Thanks for all the great info!
Follow-up on the beam adjustment: It works well. I drove about 4 hours in the dark between yesterday and tonight and not a single flash from oncoming traffic. Looks like my HID's are no longer upsetting oncoming drivers.

Any chance you could post pictures of the install?
HID's are new to me. On my 2011 coming I would like to try them. We have lot's of large Moose out here at night and would love something more then OEM.
Questions ...Can I have it so just the high beams are HID 55watts? or does both have to be?
I worry about blinding the other drivers as well so an adjusment to lower the beam does the trick without looseing the benefit?
Color close to OEM? someone posted 4500k would be better and have less blue?
Epic ..great job on vid's...a picture tells a thousand words and a vid tells a million
Well I was flashed within the first 5 minutes of driving so I guess I will need to adjust them. I was cresting a hill so maybe it was just the angle. Either way, one of the ballasts crapped out so I had to put a regular bulb back in that side. Will see how good DDM warranty is this week.
I had to warranty a hi/lo relay with them a year ago and they switched the part quickly. Even sent a return label. You shouldn't have a problem.
When you adjust the headlight focus down, be sure you do it the easy way. No need to remove any parts on the truck. Just use a long #2 phillips head and turn the adjustment gear counter clockwise a few turns. Watch your reference line on the wall. Lowering mine one inch over 6 feet in front of the truck fixed mine.
hey dose this hid light kit require u to cut wires and splice back together or dose it plug right in i am thinking bout putting some on but aint wanting to cut no wires on it
