From my personal experence. Do NOT buy oracle brand.
If you want something to last a long time buy a phillips kit. You would prob be looking around $1500 installed or around $1200 for the complete kit.
But you can expect the duribility out of it as a new factory HID system vs a aftermarket cheapo that gives every year or 2.
Still no info on these Phillips kits! I bought the phillips ballast kits for years and lately I guess no one is selling them anymore - Sp RADZER0 any info? or is all just a bunch o hooey?
Whoa! $92 for 15 feet? That would actually cost more than the entire HID system for the truck. No need for NASA certified fasteners here...
I just got whatever Home Depot has and I use it for a lot of different things. Probably $4.99 for about 10 feet if I remember right.
Yeah....you are right about that. We have a 150ft roll here at my work and I just use a few inches for small projects. It is used to replace rivets and bolts in some applications, also solvent oil and gas resistant. So, 6 or 8 inches for a couple of ballasts won't be that bad....about $5.00 my cost. I am going to call on the HID's today and see if they will ship to Canada. Thanks for the info on these lights.
Epic, still a little confised on what to buy? The kit is $65 and do you also need the relay harness?
There are three parts to the order:
Bulbs and ballasts
Hi/Low relay
Wiring harness
Someone mentioned on another thread that they did not need the harness. Maybe DDM Tuning changed something but I definitely did. Good luck with it.
I'm going to adjust my headlights down a little bit because I am getting flashed by oncoming traffic every now and then. The SD allows for some vertical adjustment via a screw behind the headlamp assembly. You ought to take care of that at the same time you're installing the new HID's.
Trying to figure out the wiring harnesses. I have one that is fused with a relay. A second harness that is fused with a piece that is larger than a relay with 10 wires going in to it (I am assuming this is the hi/low switch). Two ballasts and bulbs. Do I need to connect both harnesses to the battery? and are the grounds floated off the relay harness?
