I had a 99 7.3 with straight exhaust. I now have a 04 6.0 350 auto. Would straight pipeing this one benefit me (more power) even though i have no other add on except intake.
It wouldn't make much more power without a tuner but it would lower your EGT's. I have straight pipe off the turbo that dumps behind the cab. It is loud as hell.
Just be aware that there is such a thing as too big. 4"s is good enough for most of the 6.0 population out there. 5"s and more is not only a waste of money, but it also has detrimental effects as far as low end power is concerned(law of diminishing returns takes affect).

The Donaldson Air Filter that came with your 6.0L is what you should keep. AM intakes have been known to dust the turbo. If you take a look at signatures you will notice very little mods in that area. Tex25025 is pushing way to many horses to even count and he is still stock Donaldson as are others.
Welcome to FTE.
I have an aftermarket intake and I enjoy the ease of being able to clean it w/o paying an arm and a leg to replace it... But I had things in mind for my truck (s366) but basically the only thing you will get on your truck by straight piping it is turbo whistle and more noise unless you get a programmer

Crap, I didn't even notice that part about the intake. I'm starting to slip in my old age. 03-6L-X has it right. No need to do the intake. The biggest thing(and the ironic one at that) is that an a/m intake on a 6.0 won't flow more air then the stock intake until you are well outside the usable range of a stock or tuned 6.0. The quickest that I've seen an a/m intake flow more air then stock is 3700 on the tach. Peak HP and TQ is at 3300 and 2000 respectively. You aren't going to see that increase air flow unless you raise your rpm range. That means at min. injectors, of course, after doing that a turbo might be in order to help push that fuel through there.
I have an 04 f-350 crew cab dually, auto, 4x4, its a 5/04 build date with 111,000 miles on it, and i just had the cat, and muffler cut off at my local muffler shop, and had a 4'' straight pipe welded in and it sounds great, its not too loud in the cab and just right on the outside... i cant tell that it really makes any more power, and you can hear the turbo allot better now, my turbo doesnt whistle the way ive heard others do, its more like a hissing sound, with a faint whistle.... is that normal? how can i get that baby to really whistle loud?
