i have new batts and a new starter-
ill drive my truck for 15+ min and when i go to restart it wont ill get it jumped and it starts rite up. ill drive home from work in the eve and in the morning it will start rite up/ i cant figure it out!
Is the alternator working? If so.....Clean all the battery, starter connections including the solenoid on the fender. Be sure to clean all the grounds too.....both batteries.
I know you said you had new batteries, but I have had new ones that weren't any good. You could run a battery load test on them to eliminate them as the problem.
i had both batts tested and they were perfect-im not too familiar with eletrical parts but he said it was putting out 30 something when it should be 130. i had no idea what he was talking about.
ok i narrowed it down a bit-when the motor is cold it starts every time and when its hot i have a 50% chance for it to turn over. if it doesnt ill wait 2min and and try again and it may turn over and may not =. if i keep trying this process it will start. do any of these tips ring a bell?
When it won't start, what exactly happens when you turn the key? Does the starter spin the motor? Do you hear any clicking? Do the radio lights go dead?
