I guess so. I never paid attention to the small print - not easy for me to see. So how does someone go about listing feedback on a part sold by someone else ...... and why would you do that - especially w/ negative feedback? Why don't all the oil cooler sellers have these same 16 "feedback" posts? I suppose it is because ebay offers an option to quickly list a product (some use it and some don't)? The pics are different also, so I guess that would be another "option"?

You can tell I am not an ebay seller ............. and showing my age I suppose

(and to the OP - apologies for the rabbit chasing)

There are product ratings and there are the seller ratings, two different issues.

The problem with the product ratings is you can go in and sell an item by the nomenclature and if say it's counterfeit it can be in the product group.

The guy that I think sold the cooler actually has a good rating. In fact, his negative rating was most likely a mistake by the buyer.

Within his storefront, he's got a lot of stuff. Similar to what the guy I knew of in CT.

Maybe valid, maybe not......

Clearly the product rating is different from the seller rating.... That really didn't explain the commonality of product ratings between sellers. Selling an item by nomenclature explains it. Sorry for my ignorance on that - lol!

Still, I don't think I would post a "common nomenclature" item that has any negative reviews. I think a product review is as important as a seller review.

Agreed, I don't care for the method.

In the product rating you quoted a bad review.

It was only 6 days ago so I don't know if eBay is lagging.

That seller is a small-time seller, but so far has excellent feedback. Similar to the sealed Motorcraft items I sometimes sell. Only one thing in his items today.

So the complaint is it a counterfeit product, or an owner with a contaminated block?????? I can't tell.

Again, when you are posting an item to eBay, you can lock it in as the part number or the UPN code. If you give a product rating, all the products under that part number get the tag. Most people don't post to that but to the seller, what you are familiar with. And it may be why that seller does not have a Negative, it was posted to the product, not the seller.
